Melbourne Day 12

I just love markets, especially markets selling antiques, vintage clothing, and junk. There's just something in the air that makes me fall in love with it. We finally made it up quite early this morning (bout 8am) to Camberwell Market. Didn't snag many deals, but it was just really nice walking around soaking in the atmosphere.

After an hour or so, we left for Federation Square to queue up for this Exhibition Show at the Rod Laver Arena. For your info, Federer and gang decided to organise a charity tennis match to raise funds for the earthquake victims in Haiti. Ten bucks for a ticket to watch these big shots play for fun was really awesome. We tried queuing at Fed Sq but the line was too darn long so we ran on a wild goose chase when Jane overheard a man in charge saying "Follow that lady.. it's faster there!". We ran after her.. well more like Jane ran and I fumbled my way there and even got to be Cinderella for a moment, losing my shoe halfway and all. An angmo guy picked up my shoe and returned it to me *buries head in ground*. After running halfway Jane decided to drive there. So run some more to the car and spun round and round in the car cos we just couldn't figure out how to get to the grounds of Rod Laver. But all this head spinning and rush was worth it after we arrived and managed to get tickets in a queue less than 10 minutes long. heh :)

It was an awesome match I must say. There was Team Red (Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Leyton Hewitt and Sam Stosur) and Team Blue (Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Kim Clijsters and Andy Rodick). Oh the new young Aussie chap Tomic made an appearance too at the end. Very meaningful because red and blue represents the Haitian flag. So the players played mixed double matches with head mics on. They were really entertaining, making all sorts of weird sounds while playing with very comical and entertaining conversations. Fully satisfied having helped in some way and also being able to enjoy such experience and entertainment by the leaders of the tennis world.

And of course, my food blogging. Max Brenner for Belgium Waffles and Dark Hot Chocolate in a Hug Mug. You hold it like this to keep warm. Perfect for a cold day huh?

MalayMas for "Ham" (clam) kueh tiaw and crispy noodles with beef.
