finally dragged my ass into a dental clinic today, just to gain some experiences and kill time.
low and behold, i was cracking for brain juices just to recall what i've learnt over the past year.
- the names of the equipments
- the steps for a filling procedure
- and all the itsy bitsy details of many things lah
it wasn't easy. HOW LEH? how to go back and treat patients like tat. i need to go back early to do some prep man.
but it was most certainly interesting, observing treatments for 4 patients in the mere 3 hours i was there.
- crowning
- tooth extraction (for orthodontic purposes)
- fillings
- fillings
- and more fillings
.. with extraction being the most interesting. "very butcher-like", said the dentist.
She had to use s screwdriver lookalike thingamajig to like, loosen the tooth from the gums (i assume), then pull the tooth out with some heavy chunky forceps and her legs terkangkang.
i exaggerate. it isn't as bad as it sounds la. it was just a first for me to watch that. so it was pretty cool.
Another patient who had tooth sensitivity needed fillings done. Damn cute when he wiggled his toes in sync when the drilling was made to the cavitated tooth. Couldn't stop smiling to myself.
Somehow, the day still sucks.
Yes, even after all this.
